Onboarding Personal Devices to Corporate Networks
Many IT organizations are being asked to allow personal devices onto corporate networks. Unlike corporate-issued devices that are well-managed and under IT’s control, this new Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) initiative introduces a unique set of security challenges that require a balance of flexibility, visibility, security.
This presentation will explain the concept of a “BYOD Blueprint” and lessons learned from onboarding personal devices to over 800 networks around the world.

SIEM: The Tangible and Intangible ROI
Gary Hardy, Sales Engineer for AlienVault, will discuss the value proposition of SIEM from two perspectives; the C-level view of SIEM as it relates to risk management, and the security analyst's view as it relates to stopping and catching the bad guys. Finally, this session will address how to bridge the gap between these disparate mindsets by applying a SIEM solution through a framework of compliance, reporting and process management. |

Why Geeks Can't Do Risk Management and Why Management Can't Do Much Better
Stratfor, Sony, Zappos, RSA, Symantec, and Verisign collectively represent some of the more recent organizational failures where relatively low-threat adversaries were able to make off with the crown jewels of these organizations. This presentation will center on the fundamental reasons why we as an information security community continue to fail at protecting information assets that are critical to our business, and will provide specific corrective measures to be immediately adopted by both management and technologists within organizations of all sizes. |
