Ted Julian is a Vice President of Business Strategy at Application Security, Inc. Ted brings to Application Security a combination of in-depth knowledge of the security market and a wealth of experience launching security start-ups.

Ted joined Application Security from Arbor Networks, a leading network security startup, where he was a company founder and Chief Strategist. Featured as a hot startup by Network Magazine, The Red Herring, and Upside, Arbor consistently hit or exceeded its revenue targets, winning deployments across the most demanding networks around the world. Prior to Arbor, Ted was a company founder and VP of Marketing at @stake, the premier digital security consulting firm. Ted got his start in high-tech as a well-known industry analyst, first at International Data Corporation (IDC) and more recently at Forrester Research. During this time he authored seminal reports on security including “Security Suites: Dead on Arrival” and “Turning Security on Its Head.”

Ted is a sought-after industry expert who appears regularly in the media ranging from TV appearances on CNN and ABC News to mainstream print media like The Wall Street Journal and USA Today. He is proud to have been named, “Geek of the Week” by The Boston Globe. Ted holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.
